Art around the Table

2013-07-23 13.42.18

I hold art classes for primary school children in my home in Drumcondra, Dublin.  I offer a comfortable environment for children, where they can feel confident, in a warm, friendly,  fun atmosphere.  I have very small classes, and it all happens around my kitchen table!

I strive to ensure my students receive attentive instruction and also participate in a positive social group.  We do all sorts of projects to develop many different techniques in  materials such as clay, acrylics, plaster, watercolour, pastels, fabrics and found objects.

The children learn to look at the world around them in a different way. They look at how  other artists see the world too.

My art classes focus on introducing and nurturing a love of art to children.  I work with many different kinds of materials and methods as well as introducing them to art, artists and designers both in a historical and contemporary setting.  As the children progress and become familiar with techniques and materials, the nature of the art projects progress with them.   Many of my students have stayed with my art classes throughout their time in primary school, progressing as they go.

Projects are a mixture of short and long duration.  The children are given the chance to choose their own creative direction while receiving the appropriate guidance.

You can join in any time throughout the year.

My classes are split into age groups (5-8 years and 9-12 years)

It’s €50 a month and €40 per sibling.

Class times are as follows:
